WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) applauded Senate passage of legislation to reauthorize federal habitat and wildlife conservation programs.

The America’s Conservation Enhancement (ACE) Reauthorization Act builds on efforts to protect and preserve ecosystems from evolving threats including invasive species and wildlife diseases. Boozman joined leaders of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee to introduce the legislation in February. 

“It’s important for Congress to reauthorize this strategic plan that is helping grow and develop waterfowl habitat on federal lands. I’m pleased the Senate advanced this bill that gets us one step closer to extending this successful conservation program,” Boozman said.

The ACE Reauthorization Act is endorsed by Ducks Unlimited, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, National Wildlife Federation, American Sportfishing Association, Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. 

The ACE Act has enabled the implementation of collaborative strategies to protect and restore critical habitat including reauthorizing the North American Wetlands Conservation Act, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Establishment Act and the Chesapeake Bay Program.
