WASHINGTON––U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) released the following statement on his opposition to Senate gun-control legislation:

“As a parent, grandparent and former school board member, I understand the need to protect our children. We all agree on the need to improve mental health support and provide additional school safety enhancements. The Second Amendment is a fundamental right. If law-abiding citizens are prevented from exercising that right there should be clear steps to remedy it, but I have too many concerns this legislation undermines the ability to do that through vague language and a potential for states to abuse this process.”
