Maumelle Native Joins Boozman Staff
Jul 21 2014
WASHINGTON – Maumelle residents calling U.S. Senator John Boozman’s Washington, D.C. office may find a familiar voice at the other end of the line.
Matt Eckess of Maumelle joined Boozman’s staff as a Staff Assistant.
“I am honored to be working for Senator Boozman. His dedication to serving Arkansans is visible through his commitment to excellence,” Eckess said.
“Matt is a great addition to our office. His connection to Arkansas and familiarity with issues impacting the state is important as we address policies significant to the Natural State. I appreciate Matt’s dedication, hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to provide the best services and outreach to Arkansans,” Boozman said.
As a staff assistant, Eckess plays a vital role in providing the great constituent service for which Boozman is known. He is responsible for answering questions from Arkansans who call the Senator’s Washington office about pending legislation and debates on the Senate Floor. He also organizes and processes pictures taken with the Senator and handles flag requests received by the office.
Prior to joining Boozman’s staff, Eckess gained valuable insight into constituent service through summer internships with U.S. Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) and Arkansas gubernatorial candidate, Asa Hutchinson.
Eckess is a 2010 graduate of Catholic High School for Boys in Little Rock. He studied in Rome, Italy before completing his bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs with a minor in Military Leadership & National Security Studies from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia in 2014.
He is the son of Ann and Max Spriggs of Maumelle.
